Shaken, Not Stirred was painted as a male pendant to Stirred, Not Shaken. The torso is based on a famous Gaddi Torso, an ancient Roman marble copy of a lost 2nd century Hellenistic sculpture of the Pergamene school, to which I added the arms and my friend Leo Bratenas posed for the head. For this composition the tones were intensified by adding a few synthetic colors to the Bougueareau palette.
